Theme Parks in Charlotte NC
Now as a father this blog means a lot to me. All of my children love to visit amusement parks in Charlotte. There is just something about waiting in line to feel the wind in your face going up and down those rides.
Now this blog will not be about something that we have a lot of “expertise” in. However, it is one of our favorite subjects. This is also a subject that is our kids favorite as well!
Carowinds
The amusement park near Charlotte NC that everyone knows and loves. Carowinds opened March 31, 1973. Now mostly everyone knows that Carowinds is actually on the boarder between North Carolina & South Carolina. However, this is only a short drive from Charlotte NC (When traffic is light early Mornings or late evenings).
Now, we always suggest when visiting Carowinds to go for a full weekend. There is just SO much to do here that we feel as if one day isn’t enough to fully enjoy. This will also depend on lines and just how many people are there for the day.
While Carowinds is not an amusement park in Charlotte NC it is still one of the TOP amusement parks. Our kids LOVE going here no matter what season it is.

Frankie’s Fun Park
Now this fun park Charlotte NC is a little different then some of the other parks. For example: Only adults that are 18 years up or older are allowed in the park after 8 on the weekends. We always suggest calling or going to their website to confirm any details like that.
This amusement park North Carolina has no price for admissions. However, you will have to pay for each activity that you would like to do. Which can be a great depending on how many activity’s you or your family would like to do.
Our kids love the food here as well! 9/10 We suggest trying out all the food at each one of these theme parks near NC.

Great Wolf Lodge
Now this might not be a “Charlotte fun park” or an adventure park but it is worth checking out. This North Carolina Amusement Park is actually located in Concord NC off of exit 85. Great Wolf Lodge also acts as an indoor water park and a hotel! Which is huge when planning a vacation.
Now adventure park Charlotte NC might not be something you think of when talking about the Great Wolf Lodge. However, this is more of a water park then an actual Charlotte NC Adventure park. They do offer several fun activities such as:
- Water Park
- Shopping
- Dinning
- Fitness Center
- Several different attractions (Click here for more information)
- Large Play Areas
- Wave Pool
- Lazee River
Each Great Wolf Lodge might offer different items or different attractions. We highly suggest calling or checking out their website to ensure they have what you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for a train ride, you might want to try Tweetsie Railroad when it opens.

MR Putty’s Fun Park
Now this Charlotte adventure park offers one of America’s favorite past times! Mini Golf! This theme parks near Charlotte NC is actually located in South Carolina. However, it is only a small drive from Charlotte NC off of 77 South.
Regarding Amusement parks in Charlotte North Carolina, this one almost has it all! Here is a list of items they offer! As always we suggest calling or checking what attractions are open and if any are closed due to weather etc.
